This course (Creating & Managing a Web Store) is one of the courses in the “Internet” series of the “Media & Entertainment” (600) section of the Creative Digital Art Classroom (CDAC) program. It is specially designed for gifted teenagers who have a keen interest in modern business operation and information technology. Although no computer programming knowledge is required, participants are expected to have some basic knowledge of digital arts like those provided by other CDAC courses.
Contents of this course covers the creation and usage of web media. Also covered are the operation of web servers, computer database and the WordPress web application framework. Each student will be required to design an online store and learn how to operate it.
There will be six sessions in this course, and each will focus on an interesting topic. Through active participation and learning, students will be able to master the skills of operating a modern web store. This course will enhance students’ ability in logical reasoning, visual expression and marketing sense. It will also offer them an excellent opportunity to demonstrate their creativity.
